More than 2,000 suppliers in over 50 countries manufacture our products. The profile of our well-designed and high quality range is distinctively Swedish/Scandinavian. Who owns the IKEA concept?

IKEA retailing, with its Swedish roots, is based on a franchise system. Inter IKEA Systems B.V., located in Delft, The Netherlands, is the owner and franchisor of the IKEA Concept. IKEA stores are operated by a number of different franchisees in 62 countries.

Can I distribute IKEA products?

The IKEA experience is more than just products, it is a retail concept. For the concept to work, it is necessary to have all aspects in place. Therefore, IKEA products are sold only in IKEA stores franchised by Inter IKEA Systems B.V.

Currently, there is no option to use the gift card online.

Can I use an IKEA gift card in other countries?

The gift card purchased in Latvia is valid only in IKEA Riga store.

Order handling fee

Why the order handling fee of 3.99 € is applied?

The order handling fee is intended to cover the costs of the warehouse systems maintenance and products handling. It is applied to online orders under 100 €. If your shopping cart value is equal to or greater than 100 €, no extra fee is applied. The order handling fee is not applied when shopping at the physical IKEA store either.

Can I change or cancel an order I placed online?

What kind of the items I cannot order online?

The Persian rugs, live plants and some food items are not offered for sale online.

Can I return the items that were bought online?

Yes, you can. Detailed information is provided in our Return Policy.

Will the small items I have ordered online be packed in individual bags?

No, they will not be. Reducing single-use plastics is one of the ways to take care of nature. This is why we offer you tear-resistant and reusable shopping bags and sturdy paper bags instead.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay. You can also initiate your payment using the following bank links: Swedbank, SEB, Citadele and Luminor.

When you are ready to proceed to the checkout, follow the steps given so that we can confirm all your details, including payment authorization. We will then acknowledge your order by e-mail.

Can I order products from IKEA in another country?

Unfortunately, products from other IKEA stores cannot be ordered to the IKEA Latvia store.

Can I order online if I am not a member of IKEA Family?

A purchase on the IKEA website can be done only when logged in, but you do not need to be a member of the IKEA Family to place an order.

Will I receive a confirmation once I place my order online?

Yes, we will send you an order confirmation e-mail and SMS once we receive your order.

How long does it take to process my online order?

Before placing an online order, you will be notified about the estimated processing time. Information about delivery is provided just before proceeding to the payment.

What should I do if my card is declined when buying online?

Check your bank card limits and make sure that secure internet shopping is enabled for your card. If these settings are correct and you still cannot pay for your order, contact your bank.

Returns and products issues

Can I return items?

IKEA complies with flexible return policy. You can return your purchase within 90 days. IKEA Family members can return the products within 365 days if IKEA Family card was used on purchase. Read more

Do you offer any guarantees on products?

Can I return items purchased in other countries?

No, you can’t. You can only return items purchased in IKEA Riga store. The only exception is officially, globally announced recalls – these items can be returned to any store.

My assembly instructions are missing. What do I do?

You can find digital copies of assembly instructions online. Visit the product page and consult section ‘Assembly Instructions / Documents’.

IKEA Family

How much does the IKEA Family club membership cost?

Membership at the IKEA Family is free. Besides, in order to get an IKEA Family card, you do not need to buy any goods.

What are the benefits of the IKEA Family club membership?

As an IKEA Family member, you receive benefits, rewards, and a few surprises along the way.

  • Free coffee or tea. Free hot drink every time you visit the Swedish restaurant on weekdays and spend 1 € or more with your IKEA Family card.
  • Special monthly offers. Special offers on products in the IKEA range. To spot the offers, look for the blue IKEA Family labels in-store and online.
  • Free insurance of goods. This benefit will insure your new products against any accidental damage on the way home. If you break it, we replace it within 90 days from the date of purchase.
  • Be the first at the pre-sale. Acquire the goods at the sale prices one day ahead of those who do not hold the IKEA Family card.
  • More fun for children. With your IKEA Family card, your child‘s playing session at Småland will be extended by 30 minutes (this depends on the number of children playing at that time).
  • Games & gifts. We enjoy having fun and hope that you do too! That is why from time to time we organise games for you to participate in.
How can I become an IKEA Family club member?

To join this club, you have to fill in the IKEA Family club form (where only e-mail is required) or create an IKEA account and choose to become an IKEA Family club member. The form can be found at www.IKEA.lv. After the registration, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to your mailbox. After confirming your e-mail, the e-card will be sent to your mailbox and added to your IKEA account. The e-card proves that you are a club member.

How often will I receive information by e-mail?

We send the IKEA Family e-mail messages 4 to 5 times per month.

Can my family members, friends and acquaintances use my card?

The IKEA Family card may be used only by its holder or their close family member. Your acquaintances may obtain their own cards – this will take no longer than a minute.

When is the e-card activated?

The e-card will be activated immediately after you receive it in your mailbox.

What should I do if I deleted my IKEA Family e-card or lost my plastic card?

If you have lost your card and would like to have it again, you can download its digital copy from your IKEA account or simply by re-entering your e-mail address in the IKEA Family club form. You will receive a copy of your IKEA Family e-card in seconds. If you have a subscription to IKEA Family newsletters, you will find your e-card there as well.

What special prices are offered to the members of the IKEA Family club? Are they valid for all IKEA products?

There are various differences between the regular prices and the special IKEA Family prices for the club members. The special prices are applied to certain IKEA products each month. To spot the offers, look for the blue IKEA Family labels in-store and online. To acquire lower prices, do not forget to show your IKEA Family card at the time of purchase or be logged in to your IKEA account while making the purchase online.

Why should I show my card at the time of each purchase even if I am not buying any products at the special IKEA Family price?

Is the IKEA Family card valid in all countries?

Your IKEA Family card can only be used in the country it was issued in. If you registered to become an IKEA Family club member in Latvia, your card will be valid only at the IKEA store in Latvia.

How do I make changes to my IKEA Family card details or cancel my account?

You can update any of your profile details such as name, address, contact details, marketing preferences, and IKEA Family games and/or competitions agreements online, by logging in to your IKEA account.

How do I make changes to my marketing preferences?

We care about your privacy, therefore you can update your marketing preferences online, by logging in to your IKEA account. If you wish to stop receiving emails from us, you can also unsubscribe from our mailing list by clicking the “Unsubscribe” button at the end of any newsletter.

How do I claim the free insurance of goods?

To insure the goods, your IKEA Family card must be shown at the time of purchase. To claim your free insurance, you should come to the IKEA store or the IKEA pick-up and ordering point within 90 days from the date of purchase and bring the item, your IKEA Family card, and your receipt. The free insurance of goods is valid on any purchase, whether you have purchased it for the regular or for the special IKEA Family price.

Should I show my IKEA Family card even when I’m not buying any special offers?

Yes, you should always show your IKEA Family card, no matter what products you’re buying. Here’s why:

  • You’ll insure your goods against any accidental damage during their transportation.
  • You’ll be able to return the products within 365 days.
  • You’ll help us get to know you better and learn about the things you love!
Can the cashier look up my IKEA Family card number at the check-out using my e-mail address?

Unfortunately, the cashiers cannot look up your information at this time. However, you have a few options:

  • You can download a digital version of your IKEA Family card in seconds just by entering your e-mail address here: www.IKEA.lv/client/quickfamily.
  • Your IKEA Family e-card is at the bottom of all IKEA newsletters. The cashier can scan the QR code from your phone
  • Add the e-card to your Apple or Android mobile wallet from your IKEA account and show it to the cashier.
How can I stop my IKEA Family club membership?

We are sad to see you go... But if you wish to terminate your membership, you can do that by logging in to your IKEA account and deleting it or by contacting our Customer Service by e-mail at info@IKEA.lv.

Is it enough to only have an IKEA account to take advantage of the IKEA Family club benefits?

When you create an IKEA account, you have to choose to become an IKEA Family club member. 

Are the special IKEA Family prices valid when shopping online?

Special offers and prices are only valid if you have marked in your account that you want to become an IKEA Family club member.

What do I do if there’s no IKEA Family e-card in my account?

You can log in to your IKEA account at www.IKEA.lv/client at any time and click on the button “Join the IKEA Family club”.

If I do not have an e-card, will my physical (plastic) card still be valid?

Yes, both cards – plastic or e-card – are equal proof that a member belongs to the IKEA Family club.

If I have an e-card and a physical (plastic) card are both of them equally valid?

If plastic card owner downloads e-card from IKEA account the number of e-card and all the benefits will remain the same as physical (plastic) card.

Why are items sometimes out of stock?

Due to popularity and supply issues some products may not always be available. Generally, IKEA can estimate when a product should be back in stock. You can check the stock availability on the product information page to make sure items are available before you visit the store.

Can I bring a pet to the store?

As much as we like pets, they are unfortunately not allowed in our store. The only exception are guide dogs accompanying visually impaired customers.

Are there any items in the plan and order point that I can buy and take away immediately?

IKEA plan and order point in Liepāja offer a list of products to take home without ordering in advance. You can come, purchase items you like and take them away immediately.

Can I return items that I have bought in other IKEA store to a plan and order point?

Products purchased from IKEA Riga store and IKEA plan and order point in Liepāja can be returned to the Plan and Order point. Products that you have bought or ordered outside Latvia cannot be returned to the Plan and Order point.

Play area Småland

What is Småland?

It is a play area for children at IKEA store. We will take care of kids and their safety and let parents enjoy the shopping.

How long are the sessions at Småland?

All children can play at Småland for 1 hour. IKEA Family club members can extend children's playing session by 30 minutes (depending on the number of children playing at that time). Småland can accommodate up to 20 kids at the same time.

Are there any special rules?

Yes, there are some.

  • Children must wear socks during the play time.
  • Personal belongings, toys included, as well as food and beverages must remain in a special personal box.
  • In order to take care of visitors’ health, abstain from visiting play area if the child has a virus or other infectious disease.
Where is Småland located?

It is located on the ground floor, in the store entrance area.

Who can play at Småland?

The play area is intended for children from 3 to 7 of age. IKEA co-worker may ask to present a document proving age of the child.

Is Småland suitable for disabled children?

All children are welcome to play in Småland and children with special needs are no exception. However, we would appreciate if parents shared information that is essential for co-workers to know so that play-time is filled with positive emotions, and we can take care of the well-being and security of the child.

Can I accompany child at Småland?

Parents and other adults are not allowed at Småland. Our supervisory staff will take care of children.

Will my child be fed whilst in Småland?

As every child has different dietary requirements and the sessions are not long, we do not provide food, however, water is available at a child’s request.

Can I leave the store whilst my child is in Småland?

Parents or guardians must be in store whilst their children are enjoying our Småland facilities.

We have a number of online planning tools to help you give shape and substance to your dreams. You can play with colours, styles, sizes and configurations to plan your way to perfection through a variety of kitchen, bathroom, wardrobe and storage planners.
