2.Measure your space
Before you start planning, it is important to measure the space and mark all possible obstacles. Take your time and get all measurements correct. This will form the foundation of your new kitchen.
You can measure the kitchen yourself
Create a floor plan and put all dimension on it. Start by measuring from the floor to the ceiling, then measure the distance between walls. Then, mark the positions and dimensions of doors, windows, electrical outlets, radiators, ventilation shafts, etc.

3.Create a plan
Let’s make your dreams and ideas take shape. Outline your kitchen and see what it will look like, using our free online Kitchen planning programme.
Plan the kitchen yourself
Think about how you use your kitchen, what feels comfortable for you, and what you want to store there. Then, open the Kitchen planning programme, try different combinations, and create your kitchen plan in 2D or 3D format.
Let our co-workers design it for you
Come to the IKEA store and ask our kitchen planners for help or fill in the kitchen planning form with your expectations and receive a preliminary kitchen plan within 7 working days.
- Start your project online with our Kitchen planner.
- Make sure you have your project and all the needed measurements of your kitchen. If you are unsure about the measurements, you can apply for our measuring service. The price paid for the measuring service will be returned when ordering an IKEA kitchen.
- Choose time and book a consultation at the store if you have any questions or need our help. The duration of the consultation is 45 minutes, and it is free of charge.
- Adjust the kitchen project with the help of our planning specialists. When adjusting an existing project, you will need access to your Kitchen planner user account.
4.Purchase all furniture
When you're satisfied with your kitchen plan, ordering furniture is easy. Our kitchen experts can provide you with any needed improvements and set up your order.
You have many ways to finish the order:
1. Shop online.
Create your kitchen plan in our Kitchen planning programme and after saving it, send it to our co-workers for review. We will go through your plan, make sure that everything fits and send you a list of products you’ll need as well as instructions on how to purchase them.
2. Visit your nearest store and head to the Kitchen department.
Bring in your Kitchen planning programme login and password. We will revise the project and set up your order.
3. If you have any questions, contact us by phone +371 6330 1000 (I-V 09:00-20:00, VI-VII 09:00-18:00).
5.Install and enjoy
All our kitchens are designed to be assembled and installed by you, but we're here to offer as much help as you need.
On your own or with a little help?
If you decide to install the new kitchen yourself:- Go through your purchases and make sure you have received every item that was on the order list.
- Turn off the electricity, water, and gas. It is best to have the installation of the new devices carried out by a specialist.
- Follow the Kitchen installation guide and assembly instructions that are included in all product packaging.
